The one-year paid AFRY Future Stars programme consists of summer work and the suitable amount of part-time work alongside the studies. The program includes training days, which support your development.

During the training days, you will learn important skills about working in the consulting business and finding your professional potential. As a Future Stars trainee you are supported by your manager and trainee network in finding your career path and developing you professionally. You will be also supported by your own tutor throughout the programme.

Work tasks are defined individually depending on the trainee’s situation, knowledge and interests. During the programme you can also negotiate about a possibility to write your thesis for AFRY. The programme begins in May 2024 and lasts for one year. Read more about the trainee programme here.

We are looking for a Stars trainee to our Pulp & Biorefining Team at AFRY Management Consulting!

Our Biorefining Team provides leading-edge consulting and advisory services. We cover the entire value chains of pulp, renewable fuels, chemicals and biomaterials from feedstock sourcing to production technologies and market outlooks. We are a growing team of around 35 consultants located in Vantaa, Stockholm, and London, and are looking to strengthen our group with new talents.

Your daily tasks would be to work with our consulting team on interesting client projects within the bioindustry sector with varying scope and responsibilities, such as

– Market research, e.g. interviews, data analysis and forecasting
– Supporting in techno-economic analysis, e.g. Excel modelling of production costs
– Data collection and database maintenance
– Preparing analyses and deliverables for presentation and project proposals

Who are we looking for?

You are a university student at the end of your studies (3rd-5th year student). Ideally, you have one year of studies left at the start of the program.

You are a suitable Future Stars trainee to our team if you have

– University studies (M.Sc. or similar) in Economics, Engineering or Natural Sciences with good academic performance, with expected graduation within the next 1-2 years
– Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills and very good command of MS Office tools (mainly Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
– Good team working and communication skills
– Motivation and interest in pursuing a future career as a management consultant
– Fluency in English (oral and written), capabilities in others languages are considered beneficial
