The one-year paid AFRY Future Stars programme consists of summer work and the suitable amount of part-time work alongside the studies. The program includes training days, which support your development.

During the training days, you will learn important skills about working in the consulting business and finding your professional potential. As a Future Stars trainee you are supported by your manager and trainee network in finding your career path and developing you professionally. You will be also supported by your own tutor throughout the programme.

Work tasks are defined individually depending on the trainee’s situation, knowledge and interests. During the programme you can also negotiate about a possibility to write your thesis for AFRY. The programme begins in May 2024 and lasts for one year. Read more about the trainee programme here.

We are looking for a Stars trainee to our Chemicals & Biorefining and P2X process engineering team in Vantaa!

Our process engineering and technology teams for Chemicals & Biorefining and P2X comprise of experts in process engineering who work in base chemicals, biorefining, heavy hydrocarbons, P2X and life science industry projects. Our assignments are versatile and vary from early technology selection and techno-economical feasibility studies to basic and detail engineering in large-scale projects. No project is the same and there is always so much new to learn. This makes our job challenging and exiting every single day.

In our team you will get to experience our day-to-day work in customer projects and in internal development assignments. You will get to learn from more experienced engineers and work alongside them in supporting process engineering roles. As a Future Stars trainee your typical work tasks consist of for example process modeling, equipment sizing calculations and creating data sheets and process diagrams. You will also learn to understand our business through the Stars program trainings and our team’s weekly and monthly meetings.

Who are we looking for?

You are a university or university of applied sciences (AMK) student in at the end of your studies (3rd-5th year student). Ideally, you have one year of studies left at the start of the program.

You are a suitable Future Stars trainee to our team if you have…

– Major studies in chemical engineering
– Basic skills in process modelling
– Flexible, active and organized working attitude
– Fluency in English

It will be also considered beneficial if you have:

– Open mindedness and ability to think big and creatively
– Persistence and ability to carry out tasks that demand great attention to detail
